Newtown Township Municipal Complex (4 Buildings)

New Administrative Office & Public Meeting Facility
Location: Newtown Township, PA
Size: 18,470 SF New Construction
This Facility recently obtained a LEED Silver Certification. It was designed using products made from post consumer and pre-consumer recycled material, and rapidly renewable materials, with an energy efficient wall system and low VOC paints, stains and sealants. Use of dual flush toilets and waterless urinals helps to implement 40% less water consumption than required by the Energy Policy Act Requirements. The Timberframe (manufactured by Timberpeg®) construction of the meeting room adds to the beauty and open feeling of the interior floor layout, public hallways and lobby. Newtown Township purchases 70.9% of their energy use from renewable energy sources. During the building process, 96% of construction and demolition waste was kept out of disposal facilities (i.e. landfills and incinerators).
New Public Works Building
Location: Newtown Township, PA
Size: 23,000 SF
This project received LEED Silver Certification Status. In addition to the above LEED Standards, hydronic radiant floor heating was implemented, as well as highly insulated CMU and metal panel wall and roofing systems.
Police Building Renovation & Addition
Location: Newtown Township, PA
Size: 15,280 SF Renovation/Addition
This building was designed to LEED Silver Standards. The design incorporats the adaptive reuse of an existing building and utilizes products made of recycled content and rapidly renewable materials. All construction debris will be recycled and existing doors and glazing will be reused. Also to be implemented are dual flush toilets, waterless urinals, and low VOC paints/stains/sealants.
Parks & Recreation Building
Location: Newtown Township, PA
Size: 3,000 SF Renovation/400 SF Addition
Designed according to above mentioned LEED Silver Standards.

Township of Spring Municipal Complex (4 Buildings)

Township of Spring Administration Building Renovation
Location: Spring Township, PA
Size: 14,000 SF Renovation
This Project included the re-use of a former bank headquarters building and surrounding site for operation as the new Township Offices. It was designed to LEED Silver Standards and utilized new energy efficient light fixtures. Interior cabinetry was comprised of bamboo which is a rapidly renewable resource. Countertops are Richhlite® which is a material made of a nutshell resin mixed with recycled paper. Wall panels are Homasote, which reduces noise interference and are made of 100% recycled newspaper.
Township of Spring Police Building
Location: Spring Township, PA
Size: 19,010 SF Renovation
Renovation of the existing building utilizing LEED Standards. The project included Forbo flooring which is a linoleum product made from sustainable materials. The installed carpets were made with recycled backing. Low VOC paints/stains/sealants were also implemented.
Public Works Building – Township of Spring
Location: Spring Township, PA
Size: 14,000 SF Renovation/9,000 SF Addition
This project was designed using LEED Standards. In addition to the renewable and recycled materials, solar power and waste oil burning heating were implemented.
New Community Center & Library

Size: 40,000 SF
This project was designed to LEED Standards, using recycled content products, renewable materials, dual flush toilets, low VOC paints, Hi-R energy efficient wall system and solar power.

New Hope Borough Center Police Building & Public Meeting Facility
New Hope Borough Public Meeting Room
Location:New Hope, PA
Size: Renovation - 7,046 SF; Addition - 2,074 SF SF
Program: Adaptive Reuse of former church built in 1885. The new Borough Public Meeting Room was re-created from the original sanctuary of the Church. This project was designed using LEED Silver Standards utilizing 95% waste reduction, featuring a White Evaloy Roof, a green screen vegetative wall, re-use of existing wood floors, new ceiling installed with high recycled content materials, and low VOC Paints/Stains/Sealants.
New Hope Borough Center Administration Building
Location:New Hope, PA
Size: Renovation - 4,250 SF; Addition - 696 SF SF
Program: Adaptive Reuse of Church Rectory built in 1880’s. Building was redesigned for use as Administrative Offices utilizing LEED Silver Standards, instituting low VOC paints/stains/sealants, spray foam-in insulation and re-use of existing wood floors.

Colonial Regional Police
Location:Bethlehem, PA
Size: 14,000 SF
Program:Project involved re-outfitting a former insurance building and site into a police building headquarters and district magistrate’s office, and was designed to LEED Silver Standards. The project included recycling and reclamation of 75% of construction debris, reuse of 25 existing doors and over 100 lighting fixtures and retrofit of existing plumbing fixtures to be water efficient. It also included new dual flush toilets and low VOC paints.

Plumstead Township Administrative Offices and Police Department

Size: 16,000 S.F.
Program: This project involved the renovation of and addition to an historic schoolhouse, the last of 13 schoolhouses within the township to remain in public use, to house public meeting facilities, administration offices, and police offices including secure sallyport and holding rooms.

Program: Construction of a new municipal building to house public meeting facilities, tax collector’s offices, community activity room, administration offices and police rooms including secure sallyport and holding rooms. Site work included parking facilities for a new township park and recreation facility.

Program: Our challenge was to renovate an existing building, creating a new look while maintaining the historical integrity of the structure. New borough offices, public meeting rooms and leasable tenant space resulted from this unique project.
